I'm still alive!

So many things have happened in my life since my last post that I have been avoiding blogging for fear that I'll have to do this uber-monster post just to catch up. I've actually felt a nagging sense of guilt for avoiding my blog...which is weird since it's my blog and technically I can post or not post whenever I feel like it. :P

Yep, I'm a dork.

So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm not going to even TRY to catch up. If you follow me on Twitter or have me as a friend on Facebook then chances are you know how life has been for us. I'd post links to make this easy for you to do so but I'm feeling tired and lazy so that will have to happen another day.

Here is the short version:

Jamie is one now and walking (and as of tonight also running) all over the place. He's developing quite the vocabulary thanks to his father accidentally dropping the 'f-bomb' in front of him the other day. He's adorable and I love him to pieces, as does everyone he meets.

Katy was diagnosed with ADHD so we are working on implementing a new daily routine for her. She's working hard at it and I am working hard at not ripping my hair out at the roots in frustration. (Prayers on my behalf for increased patience would be lovely thanks.) She is doing well in school in spite of not having the official school 'plan' worked out yet that will accommodate her needs. I'm proud of her efforts thus far and horrified that it went on undetected as long as it did. (OK, can't say undetected...but that's a long story and for another day.)

Laura is doing great in school and got second place in the spelling bee. She will be going to regionals. We are beyond proud. She gets it from me of course because I r a gud speller. Did I mention we are beyond proud?

Brad was offered a new job at his 'old' job and after much soul-searching, discussion, worry, negotiation, stress, relief, joy, sadness...decided to leave his current employer and move on (or back I guess?) to the job. Better situation for him, better pay, better benefits and overall situation than when he was there in 2007. I'm so excited for him and he's so glad to be going back. He really loved that job and said he'd go back if the circumstances changed in a certain way...not guessing that it would ever be possible. Funny how things work out.

Me? I'm tired. Doing well now. Had a span of time where I was sick a lot and the kids were sick a lot and missed a ton of work so I was worried about whether I'd have a job at the end of it. Luckily things seem to be settling down and I've been able to GO to work which increased my chances of staying employed exponentially. I'm very fortunate.

Best news of all though? Dave, my father-in-law who has Lymphoma and a host of other health issues, appears to be in remission!!! (He has some other pretty serious health things going on though so please keep him in your thoughts and/or prayers.) Mainly though, we are so relieved that he responded to chemo and can hopefully cross this cancer off of his 'immediate concern' list.

So yes, I'm still alive and have missed blogging. I'll try not to stay away so long again...

Just discovered your blog through Twitter! My husband is originally from Bemidji, so I am always intrigued by MN blogs. LOL! I get over here and you have a son named Jamie(same name as my hubby) and an ADHD daughter(me, too). She is 11. I look forward to exploring your blog.

That's interesting about Katie...we'll be praying for you.

Glad you're feeling better.
