#MnSlumberParty11

So, I was planning on going to the BlogHer Conference in San Diego, CA this year but then life just got in the way. I was able to sell my ticket at a time when it helped us financially so that is good. I'm a little sad about it but it really was for the best as we as a family just cannot swing that sort of expense right now.

Anyhoo...I was yapping on Twitter and thought it would be fun to have a gathering that weekend of the bloggers and tweeters that are also not going. It would NOT be limited to only those in The Minnesota (of course) as if you don't mind driving then you are certainly welcome to participate.

Thus the Minnesota Slumber Party was born.

So here's the idea. You tell me which date works better - Friday 8/5 or Saturday 8/6. I was thinking of finding a place to stay that is in a central location around the Twin Cities area. I used to work for the Girl Scouts and perhaps we can rent space and bring air mattresses/pjs/sleeping bags/etc. and have a good old-fashioned slumber party! You don't have to stay over of course if you want to just visit for a bit. Whatever works for you.

So leave some comment love and tell me what works for you. If there is enough interest then I'll move forward on planning.  I'd like feedback on what day works as well as likely locations. If we rent space somewhere there might be some cost involved so ideas on inexpensive venues would be fantastic.

We could do movie night or play games, whatever you want. Just let me know what you have in mind.

Oh, and before I forget...I was planning on bringing Harper. Maybe we could say 'nurslings welcome'? Thoughts?

Woot! LET'S DO THIS!

Update: I called around to see if there were any spaces available at the various Girl Scout properties and the St. Paul Service Center has their Anokii Room available. It has a kitchen area and plenty of space to move around. They supply mattresses for sleepovers for troops and there is also a small grass and patio area off of the kitchen. We'd have to bring more comfortable things to sit on as the chairs are more appropriate for meeting space but we can arrange it as we see fit as long as we move things back when we are done. Thoughts?

I'm your newest follower and I'd be all over that. Just the visiting part, not the sleepover part -- I'm not really a sleepover kinda gal, I like my bed. ;-)

Either night works for me! There is a nice GS camp in Elk River if that's what you meant. I'm excited!

What a great idea!!!
If you are thinking St Paul area I'm in!!! My hubby works a few double shifts that weekend, so doubt I can swing an overnight but could possibly come hang out till real late. Depends on my eldest daughter's plans.
