“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” ~Oscar Wilde

I haven't really dwelled on it much, but in the last few weeks and months it seems someone is ALWAYS sick. We've also had more than a few appointments for Jamie as a result of his ALTEs episodes. As a result, I've missed a significant amount of work. I generally take my time off as 'unpaid' so that I can save up the vacation that I accumulate on the off chance that we will actually get to take some sort of vacation at some point. (Keep in mind that I'm still waiting on that honeymoon that we were going to do sometime in the future. No honey, that was NOT a shot...just how our life has been. I know we'll do it sooner or later. *wink*)

Because I missed a fair amount of work, I knew my paycheck would be leaner than usual. I also have dependent care spending and medical care spending removed pre-tax as well as insurance premiums, United Way donation and various and sundry other items before and after tax. So...as I said, I knew my check would be small. Still...

B: lol you got paid today
me: must have been a pathetic one based on the lol beforehand
B: $2.39
me: OM...G
B: heh
me: why am I working again? LOL
B: insurance...
me: oh yeah

So yeah, I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to spend that $2.39 right now. Because I certainly AM going to spend it. After all the work I've done, I deserve it...don't you think?

So...I'm sending out a request across the blogosphere - If you had $2.39, what would YOU spend it on? Feel free to comment and let me know. The most creative use of $2.39 will win a prize. What prize you ask? Give me the best idea and you will find out...

On a completely different note, I'm so grateful that Stellan is doing well after his surgery. I have spent a lot of time worrying about him lately! So many other babies and families are on my heart for different reasons too (Kayleigh, Noah, Audrey, Carleigh, Emma, Issac, Ryan, Maddie, Faith...the list just goes on and on.) Pray if you are inclined please for the babies who are with us fighing yet and for those who have gone on. Thanks.

With that $2.39, I would take yourself and your beautiful family outside, purchase a Diet Mountain Dew and a Dr. Pepper, pour it into a glass filled with ice cubes. Sit back and relax in one of your comfy easy chairs, you may even want to sip it with a straw. But enjoy the nice weather with your loyal, hard working husband, your healthy little baby, your healthy bigger babies, and your healthy dogs, and basically enjoy your loving family this weekend. Realize that health, family, love and God are what's really important.

And then...next week...kick butt!!!
