Yet another new blog

Hello friends. Still alive and kickin'. Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been busy QUITTING MY JOB.

WOOOOOOOOT!

Yep, I have just joined the ranks of stay-at-home-mommydom and I couldn't be happier. (Don't get me wrong, I liked my job and will miss a lot of people that I worked with but it's been my dream to see my babies grow and now I'm lucky enough to be able to do it. Paying for two kids in daycare and travel expenses and stuff is expensive yo. We figured out I wasn't really making enough to make it worthwhile.)

So here I am. At home.

*happy sighs*

Because I still want this to be kind of MY space, I started a new blog that will be all about my experiences as a 40something year-old woman staying home with her kids for the first time. I'm hoping that chronicling the journey will help keep me from doing nothing but eating Cheetos (Cheetoes?) and watching soaps while my kids run around naked. (I am admittedly a sedentary creature who would love nothing more than to curl up with a good book.)

I really want to have a plan for being successful at child-rearing AND homemaking so I'm using the new blog to help myself be accountable. I also will use the new space to see what's working and what is not working for us as a family.

I welcome any feedback or tips for what other SAHMs do that works for them.  Help a girl out yo. I want to ROCK THIS.

So please, go visit me and excuse the mess. I'm still setting things up so it's not all prettified quite yet.

I'm so excited to start this new part of my life. Has anyone else decided to stay home at 40 or older to be with their kids or am I the weird one?

P.S. I'm not 40 yet but I will be next month and I thought that 'Diary of a 39-year-old but almost 40 SAHM' would be just plain silly.

P.P.S. Holy crap, I'm GOING TO BE 40 NEXT MONTH.

P.P.P.S. I think I'm going to go cry now.

Jo, I went part-time when I was 38 to have more of a role raising William and then Liz. It was a fantastic decision which allowed me to become a Girl Scout leader, which is how I met YOU!!!

You won't regret this at all, ever!! Have a ton of fun and kiss those darling blonde babies for me!!!

Ooh I'm excited about this new chapter in your life. There are definitely lots of moments when I consider being a SAHM (though its not financially feasible) and I just don't know if I'd be able to do it.

So is there no more Minnesota Joy?

Marta,

MinnesotaJoY is alive and well. I'm just making that more of a 'me' space and the new blog more of a mama space. :)
